High John the Conqueror is the great root of triumph in the Hoodoo tradition, the spirit worked when you need to overcome obstacles, assert your will, and come out on top. Petitions written to High John are petitions written with confidence, the kind you make when you are not asking for help so much as declaring your intention and calling in the force to back it up.

This ink was made from logwood with a hydrosol of High John root distilled in house, drawing the essence of the root directly into the medium. Each bottle contains 6 whole cloves, both as a natural preservative and as a traditional spice of power and commanding work in its own right and a whole High John root. The result is a grey ink with a subtle purple cast, characteristic of logwood, that will shift toward brown over time. The aroma is smoky and clove-forward, with the deep, resinous quality of the root beneath it.

Working with This Ink

Use this ink to write petitions, seals, and commanding papers in Hoodoo and rootwork. It is particularly suited to petitions for court cases, financial matters, personal power, domination, and the overcoming of enemies and obstacles. Write your petition, dress it with an appropriate oil, and work it as you would any conjure paper.
