Rusty Railroad Spikes — Single Spike
Sold as curio only
Railroad spikes carry a long and well-documented place in Hoodoo and American folk magic. Iron itself is one of the great protective and warding materials across traditions worldwide, and the railroad spike brings with it an additional layer of symbolic power: driven into the earth, fixed, immovable, and rooted in place. In the Hoodoo tradition, rusty railroad spikes are worked into the corners and boundary lines of a property to establish spiritual protection, ward off enemies and negative influences, and fix the safety of a home and land.
The rust is not incidental. In folk magic, a spike that has already been worked by time and earth carries its own charge, and rusty iron has a long association with grounding, fixing, and holding fast against interference.
Traditional Uses
Railroad spikes are classically driven into the four corners of a property, dressed with an appropriate condition oil and prayed over before being set into the ground. They are worked for protection against enemies, trespassers, and negative spiritual influences, and to establish firm spiritual boundaries around a home, business, or land.
Each order is for one single rusty railroad spike.
Sold as a curio only. All described uses are traditional and folkloric in nature. No claims of supernatural efficacy are made or implied.
