Tarot I Naibi di Giovanni Vacchetta
by Giovanni Vacchetta
Lo Scarabeo
Before Arthur Edward Waite and Pamela Colman Smith, the Italian Giovanni Vacchetta had already illustrated a Tarot deck fully through the Minor Arcana. His deck - by him called “Naibi” - was not occult nor esoteric, inspired primarly by artistic and decorative reasons, and yet it predates the English school by ten years.
Originally printed in 1893 by renowned artist Giovanni Vacchetta (1863-1940), this deck is one of the great masterpieces of the 19th century. Now available as part of Lo Scarabeo's bestselling Anima Antiqua (Ancient Soul) series, this limited edition, numbered deck showcases the classical Marseilles style, but in Vacchetta's expressive drawing style. The premium cardstock and deluxe box make for an elegant format that deserves to be put on display in your collection.
