The Psalter of Cain

The Psalter of Cain is a collection of devotional magical works dedicated to Cain, the holy ancestor of sorcerers and patron of the Witch's Art. Its rites, charms, and incantations are directed toward the Ancestral Manes of the Sabbatic Current — the shade-mothers and fathers of the Companie of the Wise.

The figure of Cain carries deep roots across multiple traditions, appearing in Italian witchcraft, Romany magic, esoteric Freemasonry, and the Society of the Horseman's Word. It is within the British witchcraft lineages of the Cultus Sabbati, however, that Cain has risen to modern occult prominence as the embodiment of Exile and Opposition at the heart of the Elder Craft. His mythic forms — Transgressor-against-God, First Murderer, Wandering Exile, and First Tamer of the Horse — form the arcane foundation of Crooked Path Sorcery, and received their highest ritual and literary expression in Andrew D. Chumbley's Dragon-Book of Essex.

This volume marks the first publicly released work of joint authorship from the Cultus Sabbati, its contents drawn from the collective work of the order's initiatic body. Contributors include Andrew D. Chumbley, Daniel A. Schulke, Robert Fitzgerald, and additional initiates and outer companions of the Companie of the Serpent-Cross. The book opens with a Proem by Andrew D. Chumbley and closes with a Consummatum by Daniel A. Schulke.

Produced to the exacting standards of Xoanon, the book is 110 pages in octavo format, printed letterpress, and illustrated by Fraters A.A., A.H.I., and Soror T.A.

Standard Hardcover Edition: Bound in full red linen with gilt blocking and serpentine-embossed endsheets. Limited to 701 copies.
